Shelf-life stability of Asparagopsis bromoform in oil and freeze-dried powder

Abstract The idea of delivering bromoform from Asparagopsis using edible oil has gained momentum recently due to the improved processing time and that it is already a feed many livestock producers use. stability in compared freeze-dried product still not well understood. To fill this gap, systematic study was carried out determine effects storage temperatures (40 °C, 25 4 °C -20 °C), fluorescent light exposure open air, on retention (FD-Asp) (Asp-Oil) over 24-week period. In absence light, Asp-Oil more effective way preserve FD-Asp either no change or higher content (storage temperature dependent) after storage. Under same conditions, decreased by 74% at 40 53% 6% °C. presence negatively affected both while effect insignificant FD-Asp. air resulted decrease below quantification limit (0.18 mg g −1 ) week 8 for sample 16 sample. This provides empirical evidence stabilising preserving extracted , confirming attractive medium deliver powder form.
